The present research aims to identify individual and cultural characteristics that play decisive
roles in the process of triggering entrepreneurial intention in students. Our purely exploratory
approach is based on a questionnaire administered to the 312 students of the University of
Dosso. The results of the survey show that the students of the University of Dosso intend to
start their business because our three hypotheses through Principal Component Analysis
(PCA), all positively influence the entrepreneurial intention of the students but in different
proportions. The relationship between perception of behavioral control and entrepreneurial
intention is strongest. One of the lessons that emerges at the end of this study is the proposal
of a balanced model of training offer within our universities and the establishment of support
structures for the carriers of business projects, which are lacking in most universities in Niger.
