The reflection employed in this work has a central objective to acquire a rich and coherent theoretical apparatus to examine and explain the different approaches of optimizing and measuring the performance of supply chains. This work is therefore part of a global context of identifying major research themes related to the performance of supply chains. It aims to offer a robust view of research carried out at the international level and allow researchers to identify the limits in the literature where further research is recommended.
The performance of the supply chain has been the subject of much research, especially in recent years. While some works focus on improving the function of production process and planning optimization, others have looked at the key factors of organizational performance. Previously, unidimensional models have focused on cost reduction; however, the multidimensional aspect of performance is currently confirmed workable in this regard. Likewise, performance evaluation approaches and models have adapted to the new economic context.
