Abstract

Entrepreneurship research is a growing field. It concerns the entire chain of the entrepreneurial process, from the preliminary phase to the action phase. As far as the preliminary phase is concerned, research is mainly oriented towards entrepreneurial intent. This article aims to propose a new direction for entrepreneurship research by placing much more emphasis on the pre-intentional and post-entrepreneurial phase: the perception of entrepreneurship. The intention of the research is to know the role of the family in defining this perception. The population studied is young high school students in the Analamanga region of Madagascar. The analysis model is based on the theory of the perception of Viau students. It would like to compare the role of the family environment, the school and educational environment and the socio-economic environment on the perception of entrepreneurship. The results showed that the family does not play a major role in defining entrepreneurial perception. The actions to be put in place therefore consist of encouraging all the actors in the ecosystem to implement a strategy that values the family in any entrepreneurial success.
